You're right about current dress standards for both men and women and I don't think a dress code is bad. I do, however, think that telling someone what color underwear they must wear is going too far. I prefer black underwear and I normally wear dark pants, but if I were to wear lighter pants, I would wear lighter underwear. red, blue green, purple, etc. But if you dye your hair blonde, brunette, or a red that naturally occurs in hair that shouldn't be an issue. I've worked for places that in the dress code it very clearly states that men cannot have long hair by saying that men's hair cannot extend past the collar of their shirt. And that you can have no visible piercings with the exception of women's ears. And that men must be clean shaven. This isn't a problem. It's needed.
I've seen people on casual Friday show up in ratty, worn out jeans, sneakers, and a sweatshirt. That is unacceptable. Eventually, the owner Avondjurken told that person that she was dressing unprofessionally and explained what her idea of casual Friday was. Meaning nice jeans are okay, but you still had to wear nice shoes and a nice top.
I'm curious though, if someone began the job with dyed hair, would they make them stop? That would look even worse! Who's going to check that you're wearing the proper underwear? If they do check your underwear color, could that not be construed as some form of sexual harrassment?
I'm all for dress codes, but this one goes too far.

Typical Republican attitude - by the same type of Republicans who of course tripped overthemselves to bail them out with taxpayer money to the tune of 70 some odd High Low Schoolfeest Jurken billion dollars. Coproprate welfare is OK. Welfare for the unemployed mother who is unemployed because some bank like UBS fired her for not wearing the prescribed underwear is not OK.
What next - they will regulate the length you must groom your pubic hair to? What business is it of anyone what color underwear I have on? We are not free Feest Jurken when employers are allowed to trample on individual rights and freedoms like this.
